Why do you support Chefs in the Classroom?
Having a young and active son, nutrition and supporting local is very important to me. With the abundance of locally grown fruits and vegetables available right here in the Okanagan, shopping for produce in season and coming up with different fruit and vegetable forward dishes is a lifestyle and activity that my son and I enjoy together.
If you were a fruit or vegetable what would you be?
OI would be arugula! I love the spicy flavour and versatility of arugula! It is great on its own, in a salad, on a sandwich or in pasta!
Why do you give back to the community? What would you say to other companies or organizations looking to give back to children in the community?
Giving back to the community is a great way to get to know your community and its citizens, in a meaningful and impactful setting.
There are so many ways in which to give back to our local community, that oftentimes it can be overwhelming to determine where to invest your sponsorship dollars and time. Chefs in the Classroom has been a program that resonates with me on many levels, as children truly are the future, and teaching them to fuel their bodies in a healthy way at a young age is an integral part of growing healthy bodies and healthy minds.
