Winter Update

Dear Friends of Chefs In the Classroom,

As we step into the winter season, we are excited to bring you a few updates from Chefs In The Classroom. This letter is a special one, as we bid farewell to some cherished board members, introduce some new faces, and call for volunteers to join our mission.

Before we dive into the changes ahead, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing board members who have dedicated their time, energy, and passion to our program. Their contributions have been instrumental in the development, growth and success of Chefs In The Classroom. We would like to recognize and thank:

  • Debbie MacMillan
  • Alison Love
  • Betty Cherkaoui
  • Kelsey Oudendag
  • Tori Wesser

Your hard work and commitment have been invaluable, and your legacy will continue to inspire us.

We are thrilled to introduce a couple of new additions to our Board of Directors. These individuals bring diverse expertise and a shared passion for our mission to empower children through culinary education. Please join us in welcoming:

  • Jenny Rodgers
  • Terry Port

We are confident their fresh perspectives and dedication will further elevate our program.

As we move forward for the 2024 season, we are excited about a few updates we are making to the lesson plans. We are working with School District 23 to expand our indigenous content as well as adding some knife safety skills and a couple of new recipes.

That being said, we need some help.

We’re looking for a few dedicated individuals who can contribute their time, skills, and enthusiasm to help us achieve our mission. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, including registration, communication, and program logistics.
  • Marketing and Outreach: Spread the word about our program, engage with the community, and attract potential sponsors and volunteers.
  • Fundraising: Support our fundraising efforts to ensure the sustainability and growth of our program.

If you’re interested in helping us inspire and educate the next generation of chefs and food enthusiasts, please reach out. To volunteer or learn more about how you can contribute, please contact us at [Email] or visit our website at chefsintheclassroom.com
