A Delicious Start to the Season!

The aprons are on, the blenders are whirring, and the kitchens are alive with excitement… Chefs in the Classroom has officially kicked off a brand new season!

We had a fantastic first week as our teams of volunteer chefs and community mentors returned to classrooms across the Central Okanagan. Students jumped right into their food journey by making our Okanagan Start Smart Smoothie, packed with fresh spinach, kale, and local berries. For many, it was their first time trying kale in a smoothie, and let’s just say, the surprised smiles and second sips spoke volumes!

Beyond the smoothie, students planted their garden boxes and learned a little about where their food comes from. It was a hands-on introduction that set the stage for the exciting weeks ahead.

A big thank you to our dedicated volunteers and supportive teachers for helping us start the season strong. We’re so excited to see what our tiny chefs cook up next!
