We’ve reached the halfway mark in this year’s Chefs in the Classroom season, and our students are blooming right along with their gardens!
Every week, we’re seeing new skills take root—both in the kitchen and the garden. The students are becoming more confident with knife safety, recipe reading, and teamwork. Their gardens are thriving too, full of radishes, tomatoes, peas, and beans. There’s something so special about seeing kids get excited about food they planted themselves!
One of the standout moments so far was at Chute Lake Elementary, where students and teachers went all out for our Mama Mia Pasta Sauce lesson. It turned into a full-blown Italian celebration, complete with checkered tablecloths, candles. The energy, creativity, and pride in the kitchen were inspiring.
With a few weeks still to go, we’re looking forward to more learning, growing, and delicious dishes!
