What is your favourite locally-sourced food?

Cherries!

If you were a vegetable, what would you be?

Baby Bok Choy – I’m short and I’m proud of my oriental background

What’s something you’ve learned from Chefs in the Classroom?

I’ve learnt that if you love what you are teaching them, then they love to listen and learn.

Do you have a favourite kid-friendly recipe you’d like to share?

I made these yogurt and fruit frozen popsicles last year for our graduation field trip and the kids loved them. Simple as taking yogurt (non fat and non-sweet), fresh Okanagan fruit and a little bit of honey and then set it into kid friendly popsicle molds and ta-da! A nice treat on a sunny day.

What makes volunteering with Chefs in the Classroom awesome?

When I see a kid’s reaction to something they tried and think they wouldn’t like… and then ask for seconds and THIRDS!

Anything else you’d like to share with the class?

Try as many vegetables and fruits as you can!!
